Hello world!

Let me introduce you to my world – the world of digital storytelling!

I am a Flexible Learning Consultant working independently for Macro Dimensions. Please visit my Digital Storytelling Network at: http://www.groups.edna.edu.au/user/edit.php?id=370&course=107 and see what the Australian storytellers are up to.

I managed the ‘Digital Storytelling (DST) in Vocational Training and Education (VTE)’ project in 2004 sponsored by TAFE frontiers. This project created a series of case studies, workshops and learning materials for the DST methodology and began the idea of the DSN.

My main focus in 2005 has been to conduct a number of DST workshops for VTE professionals in Victoria as the demand for skills in this area has increased substantially. The journey included ‘teaching DST creatively online’ using the DSN, Photo Story, Movie Maker and Elluminate Live. Other tasks have included facilitating workshops for many teachers and project leaders in VTE for developing their creative reports and eportfolios.

I have been a Flexible Learning Manager, Flexible Learning Leader and Instructional Designer for elearning practices and materials for many years. This work has been conducted in several of the Victorian Institutes of TAFE, both in a face-to-face strategy and using virtual tools.

My current goals are to:

·         Continue to manage and expand the Digital Storytelling Network in Australia for VTE practitioners

·         continue to explore the DST methodology for use on Personal Digital Assistants (PDA)

·         build and deliver online, a short DST learning module for VTE teachers

·         attend the Digital Storytelling conference ‘first person’ in Melbourne in February 2006
